Eligibility

Most young people between the ages of 16-25 will be eligible for training with Span. There are few entry requirements apart from the desire to become an excellent hairdresser, a basic level of Maths and English, the ability to commit to this rewarding profession and an initial assessment to establish whether hairdressing is really for you.

Further Information for Salons

Government subsidised training is available to most young people between the ages of 16 and 25. The trainee must be pursuing an approved programme including key skills with an approved training provider such as Span. There is considerable bias towards the 16 to 18 year old group for lower level qualifications but there are still substantial funds geared towards senior trainees. Our Apprenticeship is 18-22 months long and our Advanced Apprenticeship is a further 14 months.
