Welcome to Span Training and Development Ltd. We are a top tier Hairdressing training provider in the South of England. We cover Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Middlesex, Surrey, Sussex, Wiltshire and bordering areas. We are an Ofsted grade 2 Training Provider offering Government Funded Apprenticeship Programmes in Hairdressing, Customer Service and Management. We also offer Assessor, Trainer and Bespoke training programmes to the over 140 hairdressing salons working with us. Our experienced senior management team can also provide advice and consultancy on Government Funding and Sub-contracting opportunities.

Employer Training Services

We will work with your company to produce a training programme appropriate for your trainees. Unlike many institutions you can work with us to develop individual programme plans to suit your business.

Assessor Training Services

The next step for hairdressers looking to develop training skills is often assessment awards. We train between 50 and 100 new assessors every year. Many of these courses are free* to partner salons. The cost of programme delivery is often paid for by Span. Contact us for more details.

Trainee Apprenticeships

Whether you are leaving school or already an established employee, you can earn a wage while you gain your Apprenticeship qualification in Hairdressing, Customer Service, Business Admin or Management.

what we do

Since 1983 Span has delivered Employer and Trainee focused Government funded training programmes to the hairdressing industry. We are one of the largest and most successful of the very few specialist hairdressing training companies. Unlike many other companies who work with a range of diverse industries, everything we do is tailor made for hairdressers.

*Courses delivered free by Span may still incur charges from awarding bodies such as City and Guilds that are beyond our control. We pass these fees on at cost. Typically, registration and certification fees for an Assessors course are passed to the candidate or employer. Span's delivery elements such as seminars, assessment, support and verification are delivered with no funding from Government and are our gift to our loyal client salons. Each client salon is entitled to one free course per workplace.
